The Apple iMac All-in-One has a minimalist design, but houses powerful components inside to create a truly brilliant desktop computer. Although this is the entry level iMac, it jumps leaps and bounds in performance from its predecessor (2010 iMac), making it ideal for prosumers or a great family desktop. Combing the processor, cache, memory controller and graphics engine onto a single chip (Sandy Bridge), the latest iMac has increased performance and efficiency because data doesn't have to travel as far. Its Intel i5 Quad-Core (2.5 GHz) processor unleashes the X Lion Operating System*, handling multi-tasking with ease and delivering speed when you need it with Turbo Boost technology. Advanced AMD Radeon HD graphics (up to three times as powerful from the previous generation) chomps through 3D gaming, HD video editing and design software. The HD (1920x1080), 21.5 inch corner to corner glass display makes photos, films, videos, websites and games look simply stunning. The screen is LED backlit, enhancing pixels to make colours more vivid, and it's viewable from tight angles (up to 178 degrees). The beautiful seamless flat-panel body of the iMac liberates space on your desk as it comes with a wireless keyboard and your choice between a wireless Magic Mouse and Magic Touchpad. In terms of connectivity, a notable feature is the high speed Thunderbolt port; Intel's exciting new I/O (input/output) technology that can support up to six daisy-chained peripherals and data transfer speeds of up to 10Gbps in both directions, (20 times faster than USB 2.0 and 12 times quicker than FireWire 800).
